In today¡s modern society, people takes freedom as granted. They do not realise that having freedom is a privilege that they should cherish. They think they can make their own decisions and do whatever they want to do is a must. They will not think about in other parts of this world, some countries still do not have democracy. People are still living in the control of the government. Human rights is a foreign word to them. Therefore, when we are living in such as free country, we should cherish this privilege but not abuse the system. In the following paragraphs, I will show examples of how human rights are taken away and how people will suffer with no human right.
             In the story The Wine of Astonishment written by Earl Lovelace, the community led by Bee is not is allowed to practice Baptist.
             The other example of law contradicting with human right is people these days are scared of standing up for what they believe in since the law will charge them. In the story, Bolo got beaten up by the cops for standing up for the community. He was not doing anything wrong, he was just standing up for what he believes in. But on the other hand, the cops were there to stop him and beat him up. So where did his human right go He did not do anything wrong So is the law system this powerful that people are now afraid to express themselves when their opinion is against the government This is what the novel is telling us. And why didn¡t the community back Bolo up when he is trying to defend something the community wanted The answer is simple, the community wants peaceful life and don¡t want trouble with the law. So if we can¡t stand up and fight for what we believe in, this makes no difference to dictatorship at all.
             In conclusion, the above examples shows how the law system has it¡s own dis-advantages.
