thus far it is hard for me to decipher what is going to occur. I imagine that Philip's handicap will become a source of personal torment for him, keeping him accomplishing personal goals and gains that he might face in life. It appears that his love of reading, especially religious materials might draw him to pursue a career in the clergy. I believe that eventually the ridicule his physical handicap brings him will cause him to lose self-control and he will retaliate against everyone that makes fun of him. But it could only cause him to hang his head in misery and begin to hate the entire human race in general. I think that the suffering of his childhood will eventually take its toll on him and he will either have to overcome the misery of his first years and rise above the bitterness, or he will have to become a victim and start lashing out at those who persecute him.
