Speak your Mind

William Stafford once said, "Writing itself is one of the great, free human activities." Every person is entitled to his or her own opinion. In writing you can feel assured that you can be free with your ideas and beliefs without being judged. No teacher can give you an unfair grade because he or she does not agree with what you have stated in one of your papers. I strongly believe that there is no right or wrong when one is expressing the way they feel about a certain subject or idea. When you put on your close in the morning is there someone there to grade you or tell you that you are wearing the wrong thing? If you are getting in your car to go to the store nobody can tell you that you have to go a certain way to get there do they? No, because you are free to put on whatever clothes you wish as you are free to drive in whatever direction you choose. Writing I believe has the same freedom, there are no boundaries that cannot be crossed, there are no limits that are preset. When we write, we tend to put on paper thoughts or statements that we would never think of saying out loud. I can think back to when I was in High School and had a crush on a boy, I would have never walked up to him and told him how I felt. When we write a story, we can get lost in our imagination. , We can go beyond the boundaries of our wildest dreams without even thinking twice about it. I find that when I write down how I feel I cannot be scolded or punished for what I write so I let my feelings out and express my opinions, thoughts, and views without being afraid. Writing is also a way to express our individuality, in that what we write makes us each different or unique. I have often stated that I am not a creative person
