             Journalists have been around for a long time. Of course they not all on television, but they still were there. Journalism dates at least from the Acta Diurna of Rome, which was a series of public announcements. Journalism continued throughout history only through word-of-mouth for a very long time. Daniel Deofe claimed that he invented the most popular forms of journalism during the 18th century. This included eye-witness reporting and opinionated reports. Defoe's Review, a newspaper article, began publication on 19 February 1704 and lasted until 11 June 1713.
             According to www.wikipedia.org journalism is "A discipline of collecting, verifying, reporting and analyzing information gathered regarding current events, including trends, issues and people." World Book 2003 Vol. 11 defines journalism as "The gathering, writing, and editing of material for news sources." The whole point of journalism is to inform people about the events in their community,
             nation, and world. Freedom of press encourages the exchange of ideas among citizens, but the press may be held responsible if it abuses the rights of privet citizens. The press has been accused over the years of having political prejudices, and most of the time those accusations have been true. Especially during political campaigns for presidency.
