e was about five and a half feet tall with shoulder-length, blonde hair. Her boyfriend was Shaun Treyton, so she attended most of their games. This day was no exception; she was there to support her brother and boyfriend in the state finals.
Kickoff was scheduled to be at seven 'o clock, but as in most soccer tournaments, the schedule was not being kept due to previous delays. They waited anxiously for the referees to finish another game, so they could play. As each minute passed by the players grew more and more nervous about the game. When the refs finally showed up, it was close to eight o' clock. After they had the usual talk with the players, the game began at eight. Neither team had ever played for the state recreational championship, and both teams were intent on winning.
In the early moments of the game, each team played sloppily turning the ball over numerous times, making horrible passes, and not marking opponents. This was caused by the nervousness built up by the wait. After several minutes of play, the teams composed themselves and played more controlled soccer. The defenses played tough and did not allow many scoring opportunities. On one particular corner kick by the Hit men, the ball went over the goalie and was going in until Brian jumped up and headed it out just a few inches before it crossed the goal line.
A little bit later in the game, the Assault took the ball down the field. Shaun dribbled around three defenders before passing it to an open player who scored. Tupelo wanted to answer, but Brian and the rest of Durant's defenders held them off until a few minutes left in the half. An excellent move by one of the Hit men created a breakaway for the goal. The amazingly skilled Assault goalkeeper came out and blocked the shot, but another player was able to put it in before the goalie could get back in position.
