nger playing imaginative games but instead are walking around in groups of youths of all ages getting up to all kind of mischief. They all seem to know all the ways of the world and I think its because of television that this has changed. The majority of us can remember our parents sitting us down for the "birds and the bee's" chat and in its own way it's a really nice memory but now a days children have been introduced to such things a lot earlier and more often by programs on the television.
             Along with creativity, a child needs to build an adequate attention span to prepare for school/college/work in later life. Children's programmes are generally only about twenty minutes long, which include on average about two commercial breaks. So I would completely agree that television promotes an extremely short attention span. Also children that watch a lot of television often can't entertain themselves and certainly are not motivated to try, and excessive television viewing in the younger years can prevent a child from developing a close relationship with books, a relationship crucial to continuing intellectual gro
