Many People find a lack of time for their own personal interests. We move through the movements of each day with sometimes forgetting to look at what we need inorder to sustain our happiness. When one has a headache their first response is to grab headache medicine to avoid dealing with the pain. We have microwavable dinners to speed up the time it takes to cook, so that we can have time to ourselves. Most of the news we hear relates to science and the world around us. We are caught up into a routine of learning about what is wrong with the world and those around us, instead of what is positive within ourselves. Through this lack of concern for our own wellbeing, people in our society view religious societies as apart of the negativity in this world and tend to stay away from them.
             Although there is a lack of wanting to be apart of religious societies because of their negative connotation there is an increase in personal spirituality. This increase is due to many reasons, one being time. As stated above we as a society are pressed for time, and most definitely personal time. Someone being able to be spiritual within and without having to leave the comfort of one's home strikes many people as ideal. Another reason would be concerning the news, many people are torn in their personal and political views on what we as Americans should and should not do. Being able to be spiritual helps people avoid the uncomfortable situations one can find in religious societies.
             Despite the fact that many people are not attending religious communities, it is much more positive that they are able to find themselves. They are able to define who and what they believe whether it is through a Protestant, Catholic, Islamic, Judaic, or personal way; people are trying to find it.
