In a place where poverty, the homeless and the beggars are an everyday, everywhere, sight, you would think the government would at least come up with some radical scheme as to improve the poor people's way of life. But let's face reality, we live in a country where government officials and so called "public servers" are more concerned in keeping their pockets stuffed than concerning about "little things" like the nation's economy or more importantly the poor.
             Knowing this, aren't we, the common citizens of this overly corrupt country, also responsible for the plight of the poor? Aren't we liable to as much blame as those in the office? And aren't we also the one's responsible for reducing them to their dehumanizing situation? I tell you, we are. Often times we look at the poor from afar and blame, not ourselves, but the politicians. We blame them for everything, for the nation's stagnant economy, for the high crime rates, for the poor, and for not making the country a better place. We blame and we blame, but do we do anything? No, we do nothing. If we cannot change our politicians then why not change ourselves? A wise person said it better "if you want to make the world a better place take a look at yourself, and then make a change."
             The film "Ang Paglilitis ni Mang Serapio" was a film about an organized crime syndicate giving trial to a beggar, named Mang Serapio. This film portrays the life of a poor, it gives us an insight of how they live and work and associate with one another. It is an eye opener for us, who have the luxury to eat 3 times a day and to have a place to come home to.
