peaker of the House calls a vote. If the results of the vote are in favour of the bill it will then be assigned to a committee. Since we are following a money bill, this bill will be assigned to the Finance Committee.
             During this stage the Finance Committee will review the bill on a clause-by-clause basis. After the detailed review of the bill the committee will debate the bill and call on witnesses to testify about their stance on the bill, and decide its pros and cons. After the debate the committee is then able to make amendments to the bill as they see fit. Once the committee has satisfactorily examined and amended the bill it reports the bill with any amendments made, back to the House of Commons for the Report stage.
             During the report stage, the bill is presented in its amended form and then debated. At this time, the opposition will generally provide a vigorous debate and they will attempt to suggest and implement the amendments it made at the committee stage. By the end of the report stage all changes that the government wishes to make must be complete. Once the bill is in its final form it will then proceed to the third reading.
