             Now in glaring contrast to this depiction of the Dauphin is in Shakespeare's, Henry VI. The introduction of the Dauphin in this work is one that shows a powerful and capable leader with some responsibility. In the scene in the play we are first introduced to the Dauphin as he is marching with drummers and soldiers. We see the Dauphin making statements about how God is on the side of the French and how the French are the true victors in battle. This is such a change from the way we see the Dauphin in the film. Here we have a man in battle, not a push over on a chair begging for money. The Dauphin is a man of action in this scene, at one point making the statement, "Sound, sound, alarum! We will rush on them. Now for the honor of the forlorn French..." (I.3.18-19). This Dauphin seems like a capable and established leader that could lead his country if the battle is won in his favor.
