EUTHANASIA
             Is it right Is it moral Ever since the first act of Euthanasia was completed,it has become one of the most controversial issues among people,but common conclusion is still to be reached.
             Euthanasia comes from two Greek words meaning "Good death".One of the base reasons people who favour Euthanasia give is,a person has the right to die with dignity.Many times patiens with serious illness express the wish to die,when they are in a stage of weakness and enormous pain.A example is found in M.Palmer‘s "The sisterhood",in which a 81-old woman beggs her doctor :"Please let me go to sleep.Let this living hell end." Her wish had to be denied,under the law.Although she was the victim of a massive stroke,paralayzed,partially blind and unable to speak,an emergency trachtomy was preformed on her.Now with the operation,hell would continue indefinitely.Each minute spent helping to prolong the agony of that old woman is an act against her wishes and needs.
             In my opinion a person should be allowed a "natural death" instead of a prolonged death with medical eqipment.Therefore I believe that there are times when a doctor must make the decision to hold off and let nature take ais course.A major responsisility of a doctor should be,not constantly to battle against death,but to do what he can to lessen pain and improve the quality of patients‘ lives.The prolongation of unnecessary human suffering should be terminated whenever possible.The dignity of human life and human death should preservef at all costs.Peter Thomas,a charecter from "The Sisehood" is of the same opinion.He argues with his wife‘s doctor through tears : "I was told yuo are the best",he said,"To me the best meant not only that you would be the best at threating my wife in the operating room,but that you would be the best at treating my wife as a human being,not just as some unfeeling piece of ... of carrion...
