             "Temperance, for Example, was by some confin'd to Eating and Drinking, while by others it was extended to mean the moderating every other Pleasure, Appetite, Inclination or Passion, bodily or mental, even to our Avarice and Ambition. (C.P., 50)" Temperance has great meaning in Franklin's time. It doesn't necessarily just coverage the over consumption of food or alcohol. It can mean overconsuming in any actions that you know can be detrimental to you. These things were looked down upon heavily in Franklin's day, but hasn't been scrutinized in due time. Being greedy is a perfect example of not controlling one's temperance. But should one want to become wealthy, and doing everything in your power to do so, such a bad thing?
