Antigone

Antigone and Wirz had different morals and beliefs, but ended up having the same tragic fates. Antigone believed in doing what she thought was right. Wirz did what he was told to do.
Antigone did not follow orders that she thought were morally wrong. Wirz did not care if the orders he was given were morally wrong. He followed through with his orders no matter how immoral they were. Antigone buried her brother because she knew that it was disrespectful and wrong to leave a dead body unburied. She disobeyed the law because it was the right thing to do. This shows that Antigone was strong willed and good hearted. Wirz mistreated and killed union soldiers he was doing the right thing because he was following orders. Even though what he was told to do was morally wrong, Wirz did not go against his orders because he did not want to be court-martialed. This shows that he was selfish and cowardly. He did admit that if he were ordered to kill his kids he would not follow through with his orders. This shows that Wirz was an unfair man.
Both Antigone and Wirz ended up dead for what they believed was right. Antigone was sentenced to death by her king, even though he knew that what she had done was morally right. She decided to take her own life before the king's sentence was fulfilled. Wirz was sentenced to death because he was found guilty for the death of thousands of union soldiers. He also decided to commit suicide.
