             When Elie and his father are told that they are in the line to go into the crematories, they quite believe as they could see the flames and see the lorries pulling up outside with the next load of bodies to be burnt. Which is ironic as little did he know that Elie's mother had already been killed off. Just before Elie and his father reach the crematories they are turned away and sent to a barracks.
