"Little Man In a Fix"

             "Little Man in a Fix" is a folk dance. Folk dancing Is the oldest for of dance. It has been a basic part of culture as far back as historians and archeologist can find records of man. The emotions and activities of work, worship, war, sowing, harvesting, courtship, and marriage are all represented in the movements of dance. Music and dance were so close that they were one, and it is only in the past few centuries or man's long history that these have been separated.
             Folk dancing was originated or was used among the people of a particular culture area or geographic region, and has been handed down from one generation to another. Their for folk dancing can be defined as expressing oneself through rhythmically patterned movements, the style of which is determined by regional tradition. Like "Little Man In a Fix" was originated in Denmark which makes it a Danish dance but is now very popular in the US and as well as Denmark.
             You might ask why do we in the US do the dances of other peoples countries we do them because the are: a lot of fun, a way to meet and be with other people, a means of expressing oneself to music, good form of exercise, a way to release pent up emotion, an aid to improve coordination agility and balance. Folk dancing can be done anywhere and by anyone. All that is necessary is to have some type of musical accompaniment, a level place, and interested people. The dance can be performed indoors or outdoors, with or without partners, by the highly skill or non skilled, by the old or young, and by all classes of people.
             The formation of "Little Man In a Fix" has two couples, lady on the right, men gook left elbows and place right arm around partners wrist and ladies place left hand on man's left shoulder.
