Montesquieu: The Separation of Powers

Montesquieu may not have been the first person to explore and examine separation of powers, but he did influence the framers of the United States constitution. Montesquieu published a book titled The Spirit of Laws, in which he discusses the separation of powers among other things. These writings more influenced the decisions the framers of the constitution made when writing the constitution.
