Friendswood high school was established in 1945 and has been around and expanded since. English is a key subject at Friendswood high school. All students at Friendswood high school must take four years of English. English papers are required in each year of English. There is an end of course exam at the end of English two. The reason why English is so important is that it helps you for the rest of your life. Not only does it help you in college but it also helps you in the real working world. Friendswood believes in order to master English you need to take it four years. Although that is up to a lot of criticism I believe it should stay as it is. Although English can sometimes be a hard subject to master it is extremely important to the success of a person in the real world. If one were to lack the basics of high school English in the real world it would be hard for them to find a job and if they do it would be hard for them to keep it. If everyone was forced to take English all of high school we wouldn't have that many illiterate people in the United States or in the world for that matter. Those are a couple of reasons why English should be forced upon high school kids. There are plenty of more reasons why kids should have to take English in high school but I only listed a few of those reasons.
