             We never know what's going to happened .One day can change your life forever .In 1942 many Japanese-Americans were evacuated from their homes and left their new lives behind. President Franklin D. Roosevelt ordered the evacuation on the grounds of "military necessity." Did the government make a right decision? Is that fair that Japanese-American were evacuated?
             When the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor many of the Nissei were shamed and treated badly because of their appearance. They looked like the enemy and were not to be trusted or respected in America. They were taught and raised in America, with cultural values and traditions like everyone else. What made them so different now? Were not they still Americans? This was a time of great confusion for many, torn between their parents' culture and their American culture. Where was their loyalty? Should they be trusted? For the young Japanese-American, this presented many social problems. They quickly became unpopular and were not chosen to be a part of many events. The Nissei would quickly understand prejudice at an early age, a concept they would live with for the rest of their American lives.
             The Japanese-Americans went through so many internal struggles, living in a time when they were not accepted. The prejudice and discrimination that accompanied the war were cruel, harsh measures they would have to face and conquer.
             The camps were located in remote areas where weather conditions weren't benign. The areas had not been inhabited before the camps and have not been since. The abrupt evacuation and loss of freedom forced the Japanese to change their outlook on American life. They would call the camps home for the next few years.
