Choosing a college can be one of the most difficult and at the same time most important decisions of one's life. Leaving high school behind, we all move forward toward independence and a life of our own. The decision of where to attend college is stressful; it is a decision that will affect the rest of your life. Reading books and brochures, college visits and word of mouth is how it all begins, and before you know it, you are moving away for the first time, going to live on your own.
             Bowling Green State University caught my eye while thumbing through a book of colleges, described as a friendly school with a dedicated staff and wonderful students. The campus was portrayed as being a community where students can develop leadership skills and having a faculty committed to ensuring that every student succeeds. I had read about many other schools, but Bowling Green's description stuck out as a school that cares about the students.
             The state-of-the-art facilities also caught my eye. I knew for a fact that I was going to choose a major that had to do with computers and a school that had the latest in information technology seemed to be the prefect place. The idea of cooperative education and internships played a big part in my decision. Getting a good education is one thing, but if you can also get hands-on experience, the learning experience is worth so much more.
             The location and size of Bowling Green was another major factor. Bowling Green seemed like a school where there were enough students to find a good experience, but there were not too many to the point where I would become lost in a sea of people. With regard to location, I liked the idea of a school where I could go home on the weekend if I wanted to, but where I was far enough away from my parents where I could be independent.
             With all of these things in mind, I am excited to be attending college this coming fall and look forward to being a part of Bowling Gree...
