The Tall Tell Heart was about a man who wasn't going to sleep until he had killed the old man. Many times he would sit down, and try to think, WHY. He didn't know why he wanted him to die, but he knew he had to.
Finally, he realized that it was because of the old man's eye! See, the old man had a glass eye. It would always seem to be looking right at him. Well, that's what the whole story started out as.
The man would creep to him room very slowly. Then open the door. He would sit there very still, and just watch. The man did this many nights. Afterwards he would go home and think everything threw again. One night he went to walk in there, and the old man awoke. He kept asking who was there, but no reply.
Over and over again the man yelled, "Who's there? Who's there?" Nothing was said. Not even a sneeze. Then the old man heard the breathing. That's when the man killed him.
The old man was put into a hole in the man's kitchen. This was right under the chairs by the table. There was a little trapped door, where the body could be hidden.
A few days latter, the cops showed up on the guy's back door. All they wanted to know was if the man had seen the old man. All the man could here was a thumb, thumb, thumb. He herd it coming from the door on the floor. It was getting louder and louder. Finally, he asked the officers if they had herd it. They had no idea want he was even talking about. This made the man think they knew he had the body.
All of the noises got to his head. That's when he jumped up and yeld to look under his chair. The officers looked under the chair and seen nothing. One of them notice there was a door, and opened it. There was the body.
