             The U.S. Department of the Interior and The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) manages the 2,662 acres of open OHV terrain of Sand Mountain. In the 1970's, only a few hundred people would travel to the mountain per year. Now, more than 30,000 people per year visit. And because of the growing popularity of the sport of sand boarding, this figure is expected to triple over the next five years. We are fortunate that these organizations allow public use of the area. And because of the increasing popularity, we are even luckier that they provide a vault toilet and a dumpster.
