The Grapes of Wrath- Chapter 28 Outline
             1. Joads are giving boxcar to live in buts have to share with the Wainwrights
             2. Soon make enough money for food and clothing
             3. Ruthie and Winfield are treated to a box of Cracker Jack candy
             4. A girl envious of Ruthie's candy picks a fight with her and Ruthie boasts her brother has killed two men
             5. Ma Joad hurries to warn Tom his secret is revealed
             6. Ma Joad urges Tom to leave, and he shares with ma some of Jim Casy's wisdom: every man's soul is simply a small piece of a great soul
             7. Tom tells Ma Joad that he decided to finish what Jim Casy started
             8. Owner of a small farm tells Ma he needs pickers for his 20 acres
             9. Al announces he and Agnes Wainwright plan to marry
             10. The two families went to the farm but so many worker were there that the crop was picked before noon
             A. The importance and power of family and friends
             1. Ruthie is proud of her brother even though she does not understand the consequences
             2. Even though family is important to Ma, she still tells Tom to leave for his own safety
             1. Tom understands and agrees with Jim Casy that every soul is a part of a greater soul, people should work together during times of hardship
             2. Ma learns about the farmer needing pickers and hurries home to tell her family and the Wainwrights about it, they go together
