The job of this agency was to support the relocation of any persons who had to be moved from their homes in the interest of military security. The WRA was mostly concerned with people of Japanese descent who formerly lived close to the Pacific rim of the country.
             Before the actual evacuations of the Japanese begin, there were several false rumors spreading about the Japanese Americans. For example, on December 10 a false report was made to the Army officials that?an estimated 20,000 Japanese in the San Francisco metropolitan area were ready for organized action?? (Conn 2). This meant danger for the U.S.'this meant danger. However, the recommendation to start evacuation as a result of this report was dismissed.
