Palm Valley (Narrative)

             As the motors screamed down the road, I couldn't keep focused. My eyes started to quiver and my head started to spin but I had victory in my mind and that is what kept me going. I tried to breath but pressure had its grip on me, my heart ached as if something was going to hit me straight on.
             It was too late my front end hit the curb and I was sent off spinning. I then went into a frantic thought, and leaned back with my hand on the wheel and pulled myself toward the seat.
             "My Parents are going to be pissed," was all that was going through my mind, because in the two seconds I was bracing myself my car collided into a light post. I expected James C, the person I was racing, to stop but to my surprise he sped off like I wasn't even there. I thought I was going to have to walk home, But in the corner of my eye, I saw his car heading back in my direction.
             I thought of how stupid I was to have let my pride get in the way of my life. I could have died there but somehow I was able to escape from death. The feeling I had during the crash felt like somebody was drilling a hole in my chest but from the inside out, and I only felt it for a slight moment.
             I proceeded telling James what had happened but as I was talking to him he looked nervous. He looked as if someone shot him. James was a really sick person. He had epilepsy and was a big fan of marijuana. The kind of person that I shouldn't have picked as a friend but I was thankful he had a phone.
             I reached my mother on James' cell phone, but because it was three in the morning I had awakened her in a most unexciting way. The minute she had gotten on the phone she knew something happened even before I had told her. Her motherly instinct told her I was in a bad circumstance. The second she heard the news she called 911 and sped off in her jeep towards my position. I loved the way my mother handled the situation. She was more concerned for me than my car...
