This is a good reason why there is a very low literacy rate in Iraq. Most of the schools there do not even have cement walls. Hundreds of the schools are made of just mud and reeds. This is a horrible learning environment for children that need to learn. The main reason behind Iraq's schools being in horrible shape is because most of the funding for the country went to the regime and the military.
