The scene I have chosen to direct is Act 4 scene 2. It is the scene in which Lady Macduff and her son are both killed by murderers. Rosse opens by trying to convince Lady Macduff that her husband, Macduff fleeing to England was a good move, even though it meant that he left his son and wife on their own. I have decided that I will direct this scene in the way the film "Gladiator" is done. The part of the film that I will use as reference is the scene when Maximus, the dead Cesar' bravest soldier, is returning to his home, while unknown to him his wife and child are being slaughtered and hung on the orders by the new Cesar. Macduff will follow the same type of role as Maximus, however he will not be returning to his house, he will be fleeing. The scene will be set in the times of the Romans when the Roman empire and army are at their best times.
             The scene opens in the house of Macduff. Rosse, a tall Mediterranean looking man, wearing a typical Roman Toga, standing at the fireplace in the right hand side of the living room talking to Lady Macduff who is sitting at the table with tears flowing down her face, the camera focusing in on the tears. Then camera changes to look at Lady Macduff's full face as she says,
             " What had he done, to make him fly the land?"
             she says this in a depressing tone, which gets to Rosse who moves from his position at the to sit beside Lady Macduff at the table and hold her hand. He then says to her in a compassionate tone, looking into her eyes the whole time,
             " You must have patience madam."
             The camera will now move to zoom in on Lady Macduff, as she says, now angry with her hands on her head, then suddenly slams her fists onto the table. As a result of this the silver cutlery falls onto the floor, as she says
             " He had none!! His flight was madness: where our actions do not, our fears do not make us traitors."
