The want for knowledge of our world and its ways is a growing compassion of all people in the universe. One of the procedures in gaining this knowledge is the study of the ancient world and it's people. In order to study these people and how they lived we must excavate burial sites of the bodies. The question has arisen over time of whether or not this is morally correct or unethical and trespassing of the afterlife of these ancient people.
             Trespass is a legal term meaning an unlawful act committed on the person, property or rights of another i.c. A wrongful entry on real property. However, with the authority and permission of that country by law you are able to excavate the tomb. The question being does that country have the right to give you that permission? Many people believe that since the country has the cultural traditions in mind that they have the right to make that decision, because they are doing what's best for their country.
             Morally most people do not consider this correct. The director general of the Giza Pyramids, Saqqara, and the Bahariya Oasis, Zahi Hawass remarked "I also dislike disturbing mummies, as they have started the long journey into the afterlife and we are intruding." Consider yourself in these shoes, your father has just passed away and you find out after he was buried that he has a special genetic code. Without your permission your father is taken from his grave, studied and used as a scientific experiment. In today's society that just isn't done, so why is it allowed for those of which don't have family or status in today's society? Death is related with peace (RIP) therefore it should be meant.
             However with the studying of these ruins it "helps bring a whole world back alive" stated Hawass.
