Well, this semester has been quite exciting. I have never had this much fun or work before. I would never have guessed how much work and responsibility it would take to make it in college. Like I was telling my roommate earlier this year, "This isn't high school anymore." All through high school I would b.s. my way through and still pull a 3.5 g.p.a., but now, b.s. isn't getting me that far.
             I would rate my performance in this course above. I'm not saying that my papers are above average; you know the majority aren't, but my effort in class, participation, and direction were. I enjoyed the peer evaluation groups we had they helped my writing with an objective eye. God knows I could have done better on some of my essays, I wish I had too, but for me, it's not been that easy. I hate to play the old freshmen in college bit, but it's true. The transition from a kid to an adult has been overwhelming. Overnight I acquired such freedom and so much responsibility as well. Back in high school, I didn't have as much work; it was maybe half of what I have now. In addition, I had my mom riding my back making sure I got my work done every night. Fortunately or unfortunately, I don't have my mom living in the dorm with me. When I get to my dorm room, I can choose to do my homework or not. A lot of times I think I can go out and party because there will still be plenty of time to do my stuff later-wrong! This semesters' workload has piled on me so quickly I don't know what to do anymore. Papers for this class, reports, and all the every day homework can be killer.
             Whether I like to admit it or not, I haven't held up as good as I believed I would. However, I have been able to draw on my shortcomings for the future.
