             "Verb, it's what you do!" said the commercial, while dozens of kids ran and jumped around in the background. I always liked these commercials because they always motivated me to go out and do something; go running, throw the frisbee, go to the gym, whatever. I really took these commercials seriously, and even by sitting there watching the commercial, I felt guilty that I wasn't outside doing something. Every second that's passed is lost forever, we will never see yesterday, last week, or that feeling we got on the last day of junior year when we realized that we had three months of freedom and to top it all off, that we were going to be seniors the next year.
             I thought about it as I walked out the back door of the dim-lighted building, and the sun hit my eyes, feeling as if it were going to burn straight through them after being inside all day. Walking with my head down and my eyes only half open, I could still feel the baking heat on the back of my neck, and while all this was happening I wore the biggest smile I had worn in exactly one year. This was the last day of junior year, and even with all the parties and late nights ahead, there was no time more pleasing than this simple walk out to my car. We made plans earlier in the year of numerous road trips, and exciting things to do during the summer but all we ended up doing was sleep in, watch tv, or the occasional, go swimming. I wanted that summer to be the summer of our lives, like the ones they make movies about. We as teenagers don't realize that we really don't have that long to live.
             Consequently, like that summer, it appears as if there are a million days ahead of us, so we often put off what we really want to do and waste another day of our short lives.
