Maturation from junior year

             As everyone is aware of, junior year is a tough year that forces every student to mature in some way. Maturation may result from getting your license, taking charge in a new club, managing school work, etc. I know that I have definitely gown as a reader and writer this year for example. I have learned so many techniques that have helped me to improve skills needed for English class. My recently required knowledge of editing, using multiple drafts, managing time, maintaining notes, applying active reading and writing process, have enabled me to grow as a successful reader and writer.
             For example, in the beginning of the year I would not make any effort to write down notes that were not required or written on the chalk board. I slacked off a little. But, then I found that I would forget important points made by the teacher in class even if I was listening at the time. So, for the movie On the Ropes, I made sure to take excellent notes and write down anything that the teacher stressed. When I looked back at the sheet later, I could remember everything becauseI wrote it down. That also regards to character worksheets we did like the one on Banquo. I actively read his quotes and wrote down everything that they revealed about his actions and personality. Now I make sure to not only listen, but to write important points down immediately before I forget them. It made a huge difference on quiz and test grades for me.
             Furthermore, I have leaned a lot regarding editing and using multiple drafts. For the research paper, I had to create several drafts and look over my paper several times until I thought it was the best I could do. Honestly, it was a huge mess when I first started. I had to change everything and try to have an effective opening and conclusion and keep my argument persuasive.
