Prostitution - should it be legalised?
             This is the question that is being argued between two sets if critics, should prostitution become just a normal day-to-day business or should we just dismiss that it even exists in the first place. There are several different points of view on this topic that vary from one extreme to another and state all valid points of view. I hold the view that if this was to be implemented and it could be handled in a safe manner then it should be legalised.
             The main point of view, I feel, as to why prostitution should be legalised is that it would dramatically reduce the nuisance caused by the illegal sex trade. Even though the act of selling sex for cash is not itself illegal but soliciting for clients by walking the streets is. Since the fact of selling sex is not what is actually illegal then it shouldn't be that much of a problem legalising the business but it is because of those people who hold the opposite opinion on the matter, and have the incorrect idea that selling sex is illegal, that stop it from being so.
             The second reason I hold as to why it should be legalised is that it would be a safer business for women to work and be involved in. According to a prostitute working from a flat in Birmingham she states, "Many of us would feel safer, and less lonely, if we could work with other women." and this brings in the idea of licensed brothels.
             If toleration zones were introduced, which would consist of an area legally dedicated to prostitution and might include a licensed brothel, then it would help prevent and protect innocent women from being hassled from punters. At the moment there are no such thing as toleration zones and in an area renowned for "working-girls" innocent women are regularly introduced being mistaken as prostituted then it becomes a nuisance to these normal women.
