             Christians, similar to their Jewish counter parts, hold a similar view of God (Ludwig, 2001) that "God is one God of all peoples and ages, both transcendent and immanent, both lawgiver and merciful parent" (p. 158). The main difference between Jews and Christians on their view of God is the emphasis that Christians place on the role of God as a merciful and compassionate God (Ludwig, 2001). Christian connection with God comes primarily through their interaction and exposure with Jesus Christ. What Christians believe is that through their stories of Jesus, they see God and how he loves them and is merciful. Further to this, Christians identified that God is not only seen in his son Jesus Christ, but also in the Holy Spirit (i.e. Christians believe there is only one God, although this God can be seen as three entities-the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) (Ludwig, 2001).
             God as the Father is seen as the creator of "the universe in an orderly fashion, determined it all to be good, and placed humans as the crown of creation, to play the role of God's representative within this good world" (Ludwig, 2001, p. 160). Essentially, all things derive from God, are created through God and that this "world is entirely God's creature, dependent on God for the gift of being and life" (Ludwig, 2001, p. 161). For Christians, God's creation of humans was an explicit example of his parental love.
             As part of creation, God developed a moral universe. "God's love is balanced with justice or rightness throughout creation" (Ludwig, 2001, p. 162). Part of this balance sees humans as sinners and that this sinfulness is part of establishing differentiation
