Picture yourself rolling through the streets of Baghdad in an armored personnel vehicle, when an adversary pops out of the shadows with a rocket launcher. You are dead in his sights, and you suddenly remember that your vehicle lacks much of the armor it is supposed to have, and your bulletproof vest...

The American invasion into Iraq has been a very difficult topic for American's to agree upon. The right for one country to invade another based upon unsubstantiated evidence and political differences is hard for me to understand. Even though some people would say that what we did was potential...

I felt the article Superpatriotism: The Importance of Being "Number One" , by Michael Parenti was a very interesting yet disturbing article. The article interests me because most of the people in my family have the attitude of a super patriot. Coming from a big family all four of my ...

I really wish those terrorists hadn't flown planes into buildings. There is the whole loss of life thing but there is also the fact that America won't shut up about it. I'm so tired of hearing September 11th crap everywhere in the media that if I didn't know better, I'd enrol myself in flight school...

"Freedom of Speech" The right to free speech is one of the most precious rights an individual has as a citizen of the United States of America. This right gives people the opportunity to speak their mind and give their opinions of what they think should happen. These rights have be...

Voting is defined as a formal indication of a choice between two or more candidates or courses of action. Voting is an important tool in choosing our leaders and how they run our country, especially with the upcoming presidential election. The citizens hold the future of America's economy in th...

Media Coverage of the War Is the American news media biased in favor of liberals and liberal causes? Just turn on your TV and channel-surf the major all-news networks and listen to what they are reporting about the war with Iraq. Television provided non-stop coverage of the events of Sept. 11 a...

Ruling a country effectively is executed through a variety of methods. Lao-Tzu, a follower of Taoism, expresses his belief on the most efficient way to govern. "The more prohibitions you have, the less virtuous people will be. The more weapons you have, the less secure people will be. The more subs...

America: A Taker of Freedoms Actions speak louder than words. This phrase has proven exceedingly true when one is talking about the image that America portrays to Iraqis. We as Americans can say all that we want about spreading peace and freedom, but Americans in general have no idea what other ...

The Project for the New American Century (PNAC) is a Washington based think tank formed in 1997. Current Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz is the ideological father of the group. Loss of Freedom Through Apathy We do have freedom in this country but we simply choose to ignore it. We live in a democracy, the most just kind of government, where the people hold supreme power. It is an institution that is a culmination of revolutions, wars, philosophies and heroes. It is the g...

Traveling throughout the world, an American slowly begins to realize that the tag "world's superpower" comes with its price: most of the world's countries view the individual's home region with animosity. A man who had ventured to foreign nations only three years previous, h...

Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to thank you for coming here tonight and those of you at home watching. This election could be a major turning point in history. We have two choices. The first choice is to remain how we are now, a nation who is being lied to. We could remain a nation whose ad...

The world must run in an orderly fashion. Without order and peace, the world would be in crumbles. Every country has its own government, whether it is ruled by the people or by a tyrant and every country has its own set of laws in which they must abide by. The government establishes the laws to keep...

Values Worth Fighting For When a country goes to war they are fighting to defend what they believe in. Each battle and every victim helps decide how the opponent will have to compromise at the end of the war. But why must they compromise? And how significant is every dead soldier when you're f...

Politics and I have never really seen eye to eye. When I say this I mean I've never really been interested in it. Politics to me has always looked like a stupid childish argument. I think I view politics like that because of watching the British house of Parliaments live on T.V. I d...

September 11, 2001 is one of the most surreal experiences I ever had. I was employed at bank located one block away from the World Trade Center when the planes hit the two towers. Pentagon was also attacked that day which killed hundreds of officers who worked for the US Department of Defense. Wi...

I appreciate what the men did for our country way back when, but those wars you spoke of weren't fought over nothing. If the leader of a world power were to publically annouce that you were Evil and must be destroyed and then began destroying countries that too were Evil, wouldn't you want to protect...

The calamity of September 11th were not random acts of evil, rather they were calculated attacks on the attitudes that every American held prior to September 11th including myself. My lack of knowledge on American foreign policy proceeding to the measures of September 11th underscore, in my underst...

America is known as the land of the free, where speech and action can be done without restriction (to an extent) by the power of our constitutional amendments. Speech and action has been actively exercised and has evolved from the 60's to now on one of America's most talked about issue tod...

It is almost contrived to say that history can educate the leaders and key thinkers of the present, yet the phrase "learn from the past" appears in nearly every history book's introduction. With all the historians and well-read politicians in this society, hasn't anyone been ab...

We Americans have a very important decision to make. It will affect the future of our country, maybe even its future existance. Unfortunately, most Americans are not even aware of what's happening. It all has to do with immigration, legal and illegal. When I was a boy, my favorite uncle was my Uncl...
