It would be already be problematic for a child to have already lost his or her parents for whatever reason and be placed in foster care, adoption agency or even adopted at birth by gay parents into a dramatically different kind of family than from almost all other children they meet. I think psychologically a child who is adopted may have potentially more self-doubt. This child may ask him or herself, "why me?" A child in foster care already has many disadvantages, some of which are due to a lack of a normal family.
