This technique cleverly changes the audience's attention to the issue that Shakespeare wishes to present. There is no unexpected twist at the end of the play to shock the audience. It is the relationships, motives and in particular those which are influenced by the ambition of Macbeth and his wife that are able to be focused on by the audience.
             Ambition is to a large extent influenced by people surrounding the person. It is something that is possessed by another person that fuel's the quest for more. In this case a major part is how the ambition of Lady Macbeth pushed her husband to commit the fatal act. In Scene 7 Macbeth is extremely reluctant to act on his ambition and decides that "We will proceed no further in this business" but Lady Macbeth pressures him into it and in fact comes up with the plan.
