Not since the events at the Nazi concentration camps has America seen such wanton and callous disregard for fellow human beings. It is hard to deny that such events further reinforced present day feelings of distrust and betrayal felt by some African Americans towards whites, including those in authority who should in fact be trusted in medical matters. This resulted in African Americans ignoring white medicine losing faith in its integrity. The next best thing was to hold on to that which was passed on from generation to generation because of its ingredients that were considered pure and efficacious and their remedies were proven to work.
