could very well be living in a society with fully segregated businesses. This has also made my views stronger because if King had not taken these actions, we could be living in a society with all white people in the top sales positions, and people of color would be stuck mopping up the floors and taking out the trash. This greatly affected my views because if King had not help lead the way for these people, African-Americans would not have the same opportunities they do today. African-Americans would not be able to walk into the same offices as white people do today, just to be able to apply for a job. Through his individual actions leading his people, he changed society to the way we now see it today. Because King led these people, African-Americans are now getting the treatment they deserve and are getting the opportunities everyone else has. King has changed the way people think and act, he has changed society to be what it is like now.
             Another man that has changed society for the best, is Malcolm X. Malcolm X's individual efforts have greatly changed the lives of many. He led African-Americans and eventually all the oppressed to knowing that they deserve more and are better than what their oppressors lead them to believe. In 1957, a member of the Nation of Islam was brutally beaten by the police, and taken back top their police station. After word got out to the public, a huge crowd began to gather at the police station demanding to see the beaten man. After waiting many long hours, the police still did not reveal the condition of the beaten person and still was not able to get the crowd to leave. When Malcolm X arrived though, he quickly walked his way through the crowd and into the station. After long acts of negotiation between the police and Malcolm x, they were finally able to come to an agreement allowing X to see the man if he would get the crowd to disperse.
