             Hobbes writes what every man should say; it is almost like an oath given to his fellow people. "I authorize and give up my right of governing myself, to this man, or to his assembly of men, on this condition, that thou give up they right to him, and authorize all his actions in like manner (Hobbes 417)". The commonwealth or the Leviathan as Hobbes' calls the governing man is not bound by the social contract. He has absolute control and instills fear within the community. The Leviathan can be a group or a general assembly. Hobbes says that the Leviathan is a mortal god or has godlike powers.
