At one point the general managers told us his opinion about third shift in an employee/management meeting. He felt that we were unproductive because we were the graveyard shift, we didn't take work as seriously as people who went to work early every day, and just didn't give as much because night time because we only had our manager to deal with on our shift. First and second shift had him there, and he believed that because his being so hard on the other two shifts, and watching over the managers on the other two shifts is what caused them to be more productive. He let the new managers know right away that their job was also on the line if they were too easy on us, and allowed us to get away with being unproductive because he wasn't there to ensure things were done properly.
