Not only had that happened, but the improvement in the lines of communication also stimulated dialogues between multiple countries which fostered a connected mentality that led to 'Globalisation'. Globalization is "the process of international integration arising from the interchange of world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture" (Albrow, Martin & King, 1990). The numerous improvements in technology, combined with this globalized mind-set paved the way for more businesses to engage in international (cross-border) economic activities (zeiler, 1990).
