As Toby is speaking to Maria, Sir Andrew enters. "Accost Sir Andrew, accost." Andrew thinks Toby is telling him the name of Maria and calls her this not realising that it actually meant for him to say good morning to her. This is very amusing for the audience as Andrew makes a complete fool of himself.
