Influences

             Both nature and nurture play a significant role in developing an individual's character. According to the Oxford Dictionary, nature are the qualities inherited that are essential in giving a person's fundamental qualities. The values, love, and morals that are instilled at a young age by parental figures are the way a child is nurtured (608). Nature and nurture help develop personal identity. A person's nature and how they were raised creates the personality and the inner individual. My family, culture and the environment they exposed me to, as well as the people I surrounded myself with has greatly influenced my personal identity.
             People are influenced by the cultures that they have grown up in. For example, body languages between two cultures are completely different. The way a certain ethnic group acts or talks could be offending to another ethnicity without meaning to. According to Edward T. Hall, Middle Eastern culture and Western culture differ in several ways. Arabs are used to living in confined spaces and are aggressive (267). Hall states, Western culture enjoy open spaces, and are less aggressive (279). It's the Arabs culture that are pushy and aggressive (267). On the other hand Westerners feel their personal space should not be violated, and find it rude if someone is very close to them or is pushy in public (Hall 269). All cultures have their specific way of acting in public, and the way they live. This type of behavior that Westerners and Arabs have shown through the years was influenced by their culture, by what they were taught and what they saw.
             For example, by nature men and women act differently and talk differently. Women tend to be more talkative, emotional, and always want to share all experiences. On the other hand, men are more closed with their feelings and would rather just be with a group of guy friends then sit and talk on a one on one basis. If both women and me...
