ester suits for men...trucker hats...poodle skirts to name a few. In the eye of storm, some fashions will remain for the most part classic: the little black dress, two piece business suit, jeans (though leg flares and length will vary), casual golf shirts, and khaki. The out fringes of the storm, anything goes: New jeans with holes down the side (Madonna's video, "Lucky Star"), corduroy, dresses with uneven hems, the Cyndi Lauper look with colors brighter than the sun. So I ask again, why the eighties? What makes that time so special for movies, music, and fashion?
             Well, movies for me are an easy answer. Who doesn't remember the continuing saga of Star Wars and Indiana Jones? Back To the Future, The Terminator, and Alien? These movies were not trendsetting...do you see people running around in black capes like Darth Vader, hairdo's like Princess Lea, or did Dr. Jones' hat catch on unless you were at Busch Gardens?
