With virtually a whole town wanting to kill Lennie, and how they wanted to do it, George felt as if Lennie did not deserve that, but rather a death that Lennie understood, a death only George could offer. Georges compasion for the distraught Lennie is what helped him pull that trigger that ended Lennie's torture. If that was anylized today that would be not only justfied, but soluted. So that brings back up if man is inately good or evil.
             So Lennie is not wrong in his doings when taken a more in depth look at what made his wrongs occure in the first place. What does that say about humans? It says simply that life in itself could only be wrong. But, is there really a direction for so many figers to point? For this, look towards George. George only did good.
