Ethics in a Family Practitioners Office

             This policy will introduce safe guards for a general family practitioners office pertaining to computer data and other sensitive information. It is the policy of this office to conduct its business with honesty and integrity and in strict compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations of this state. This practice is strongly committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct in every aspect of its dealings with its employees, patients, communities, suppliers and all other contacts. This practice will enforce its policies and procedures rigorously.
             All employees will adhere to the policies and procedures of the practice and will conduct business affairs to the letter and the spirit of the law. All employees are encouraged to make inquires, express work-related personal concerns regarding the ethics policies and procedures, and report any violations or suspected violations without fear of retribution or retaliation of such reports.
             All software is owned by the practice and maintained by the LAN administrator. There will be one copy per computer, and one backup copy maintained in storage by the LAN administrator. The LAN administrator will maintain a software inventory for accountability purposes to ensure licensing requirements are maintained. Inventory should identify the software name, use, version, and the specific identification number of product licenses.
             The flow of information through electronic services across internal and/or external networked computing resources has provided ease of use and accessibility to large volumes of data and information. These medical office assets (resources and services both hardware and software) are provided for electronic communications and include:

             · Access to applications within the internal networked system (i.e. LAN).
