We can fly through the sky,We've walked on the moon,explored the ocean floor but nothing can compare to the dimensions of worlds unearthed in poetry.Poetry allows the mind to go places it's never been before.Richard Henry Wilde was just one of the talented souls who posessedthe talent to take us there,to the unknown words of the heart.
             Richard Henry Wilde was born September 24,1789 in Dublin,Ireland.Wilde the sixth of twelve children to Richard and Mary Newett Wilde. Though he did not live there long,he still loved Ireland. In december 1796 the whole family departed for Baltimore,Maryland.Upon arrival,though always sickly,Richard became worse.Poor Richard was so weak,he was not expected to live.
             Wilde lacked alot of formal education which caused wilde to spend all his life as a student.Most of Wilde's knowledge was self taught.He taught himself french,italian,spanish,bookeeping,law,and a small portion of latin.
             1802,a year that changed Wilde's life.At a tender age of thirteen his father died.It was also the year he moved to georgia to work to help support his family.Wilde found employment at a store owned by an old family friend,John Cormick.In 1805 just two years after the rest of the Wilde's family moved to Augusta, Richard went to work for his mother's store.
             In 1808 Wilde decieded law would be his profession.Wilde was forced to improve himself,he later,to help founded the Thespian Society and Library Co. of Augusta,which was a dramatics group.Near 1809 Wilde took his examination.In March 1809 Judge Peter Early admitted Wilde to practice law and be part of the bar of South Carolina. In the same year he was chose by Joseph Hutchinson,a distinguishedAugusta lawyer,as a partner.
