ide man: "Ask for what end the heavenly bodies shine, Earth for whose use? Pride answers, "Tis for mine" (I.V. 131-132). Man suggests that God's creation is faulty because he somehow believes that everything was created solely for him. Pride has man convinced that he is the main purpose of creation. "If Man alone engross not Heaven high care, " (I.IV. 119), implies if man's pride is unsatisfied he will resentfully cry: "If Man's unhappy, God's unjust" (I.IV. 118).
             Pope echoes these sentiments as he writes, "Aspiring to be Angels, Men rebel", (I.IV. 128). Pride makes man believe that he should be in the place of the angels. The psalmist David clarifies man's proper position stating "God has given his angels charge over us," (Ps. 91:11) not man having charge over the angels.
             Pope insists, "Passions are the elements of life." (I.V. 169), but man should also keep his passions under control and remember where his order is in the Great Chain of Being. Pope further confirms that God "Made for his use all creatures if he call, Say what their use, had he the powers of all?" (I.VI. 177-178) This excerpt reiterates what was stated early from the Book of Genesis concerning God assigning man his position on earth.
             When Pope ask the question, "Shall he alone, whom rational we call, Be pleased with nothing, if not blessed with all?" (I.VI. 186-187) he implies that man would like to have all of the power and become the "God of God" (I.V. 121).
             Pope asserts that men are not all created the same and everyone has his own specific talents when he affirms that:
             "The spider's touch, how exquisitely fine!
             Feels at each thread, and lives along the line:
             In the nice bee, what sense so subtly true
             >From poisonous herbs extracts the healing dew?"
