             If man does not embrace this role and he insists on defying his assigned placement in the universal scheme, he threatens to interrupt the order of being. Pope further illustrates this ideal when he implies that God has placed each man wisely; because "All are but parts of one stupendous whole;" (I.IX. 267). This excerpt concludes that if the individual were to succeed in acquiring a different place, then he would pervert the order originally designed.
