eally sorrow they are feeling and not just an act to make people believe you are grieving. Jury, don't be sucked into prosecuting a man who has the same feelings as another yet refuses to show emotion he does not feel.
             If we must go into the facts of why he did not show any emotions at the funeral, there are a few reasons. The first was because of the weather that day. Jury, Meuersalt has undergone physical examinations and it has proven he cannot cope in intense conditions such as overbearing sun and humidity which were evident on both the day of his mother's funeral and the day of the Arabs death. Meuersalt suffered from heat stroke the day of his mother's funeral. This caused him to become tired and weary and he wasn't fully aware of what was going on. The nature of his physical needs had distorted his feelings. This is the reason the warden had seen him leave the funeral so early. A man also doesn't have to clarify his reasons to the whole of society for not wanting to see his mother's body. In Meuersalt's diary it states that he wanted to preserve the early memories of his mother without clouding them over with pictures of her dead body.
