After moving so many times, Marx fell into poverty (Kemerling 1). Marx's buddy Engels was nice enough to lend him the money and they founded the International Workingmen's Association. This was important to the bourgeoisie. It improved the life of workers and the middle class. Marx and Engels moved to Cologne. After publishing many articles in the paper, Marx was getting closer and closer to a world revolution. But in 1849 he received news that he was going to be expelled from the country and he was forced to leave (Spartacus 3). Marx moved to France where he believed a socialist revolution was likely to take place at any time. Within a month of arriving, the French police ordered him to leave the capital.
